Funeral Songs Open Mic – Ash Wednesday

Funeral Songs – Open Mic
Ash Wednesday – February 26th at 7pm.
Fort Elgin (the little house beside Beasley park at 55 Elgin St).

We’re all Gonna Die! (someday)
Ash Wednesday is the day on the church calendar where we are invited to reflect on our own morality. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust is a part of life. The Commons invites you to a “Funeral Songs” open mic at Fort Elgin (55 Elgin St). We are asking people to come with a song, story or poem that you would want shared at your own funeral. How we want to be remembered in death says a lot about what we value in life. We will also be offering to place an ash cross on the forehead of anyone who would find that meaningful (if that doesn’t fit you, don’t worry you are still welcome to come and participate in the open mic).

We want to be present for a diversity of voices and expressions. To find out more about The Commons visit: http://hamiltoncommons.ca/
